It’s Finally The Big Day!

All that waiting is finally over — your dream day is here! As a wedding photographer, I’ve been by the side of countless brides and grooms, and from experience I know the day can fly by in a rush. It’s easy to forget things you need or may need in the moment. To help make sure your day runs smoothly, I’ve compiled a list of 27 Wedding Day Must-Haves — because you never know what you might need when it matters most.

1.Wedding Timeline and Vendor Contact List:

Make sure you have a printed timeline and a list of all your vendors’ phone numbers handy. That way, if something runs late or plans need to shift, you have all the information you need at your fingertips.

2.Boob Tape:

For when your dress needs a little extra staying power.

3.Cough Drops:

A scratchy throat can come at the worst time. Keep a few handy just in case.

4.Dry Shampoo / Dry Conditioner:

For oily roots or frizz control — this can be a lifesaver for keeping your hair looking fresh all day.

5.Pads and Tampons:

Aunt Flo has a way of dropping by uninvited. Better to be prepared just in case.

6.Glue / Glue Dots:

Whether it’s a loose gem or a falling lash, having a small adhesive on hand can solve a lot of tiny emergencies.

7.Blotting Sheets:

To control oily skin and keep everyone looking photo-ready, especially during a summer wedding.

8.Tissues:

For those happy tears — you and your guests will appreciate having a few handy.

9.Ibuprofen or Your Preferred Pain Reliever:

Heavier veils, tight shoes, and hours on your feet can take a toll. Keep a small packet close by.

10.Straws:

Using a straw lets you stay hydrated without smudging your lipstick.

11.Safety Pins:

For a broken strap, a gaping piece of fabric, or a last-minute wardrobe fix — a few safety pins can be a lifesaver.

12.Crochet Hook:

If your dress has tiny button loops, a crochet hook makes securing them much easier — especially with long nails.

13.Hand Sanitizer:

To keep hands clean and germ-free all day long.

14.Pepto or Tums:

Nervous stomachs and rich food can sometimes lead to discomfort. Better to be prepared.

15.Tweezers:

Handy for rogue eyebrows or tiny snags — or even removing a small splinter.

16.Floss or Floss Picks:

Don’t let a piece of food spoil your photos. Keep dental floss handy.

17.Sewing Kit with Scissors:

For any rips, tears, or wardrobe emergencies.

18.Band-Aids or First-Aid Kit:

Accidents happen — a small first aid kit can be a huge help.

19.Tide Stick:

For accidental spills and stains — a small Tide Stick can be a lifesaver.

20.Slippers, Flats, or Slides:

Your feet will appreciate having a comfortable pair of shoes to change into once the formal photos are done.

21.Bobby Pins or Hair Clips:

For flyaways or to keep a style in place all day.

22.Backup Heels or Shoes:

A backup pair is a smart move in case something happens to your main shoes.

23.Rain Cover or Clear Umbrella:

Weather can be unpredictable — be prepared just in case.

24.Rechargeable Fan:

Nerves, heavy dresses, and poor air conditioning can make a small, handheld fan a much-appreciated lifesaver.

25.Chargers:

Bring phone chargers to keep everyone connected and ready to capture the day.

26.Water and Snacks:

Don’t forget to stay fueled and hydrated. Nerves can diminish your appetite, but a small snack can keep you going.

27.Checklist:

Make sure you have a master checklist of all the important items you need to bring — rings, marriage license, bouquet, jewelry, and any family heirlooms — and check it carefully before you leave.

Your wedding day should be filled with happiness, love, and peace of mind. With a little preparation and these essentials on hand, you’ll be ready for whatever the day brings.
